Ankara: The 2023-2024 Trkiye Report, recently passed by the European Parliament, has been criticized by Trkiye for containing allegations deemed distorted and unfounded. The Turkish Foreign Ministry expressed its rejection of the report, arguing that it offers a platform for propaganda by terrorist groups and those with anti-Trkiye agendas, affecting both political dynamics in the country and international relations, including a recent visit by the Turkish President to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.

According to Anadolu Agency, the Turkish Foreign Ministry's statement highlighted that the report, adopted on May 7 by the European Parliament's Plenary Session, includes claims against Trkiye that are seen as prejudiced and baseless. The ministry called on the European Parliament to act responsibly in the coming days to ensure that Trkiye's relations with the European Union, including its EU accession process, are maintained on the basis of mutual benefit.
