ISTANBUL: European stock exchanges closed Friday higher to finish the week with gains. The STOXX Europe 600, which includes around 90% of the market capitalization of the European markets in 17 countries, was up 4.2 points, or 0.83%, at 512.83. The UK's FTSE 100 jumped 99 points, or 1.21%, to close the session at 8,285. Germany's DAX rose 118 points, or 0.65%, to end at 18.417. France's CAC 40 was the best performer of the day, soaring 90 points, or 1.22%, to reach 7,517. Italy's FTSE MIB, meanwhile, rose 41 points, or 0.12%, to 33,812.
