According to Anadolu Agency, uncertainties in global markets stem from the partial US government shutdown and expectations that Kevin Warsh, President Donald Trump's nominee for Federal Reserve chairman, will avoid aggressive interest rate cuts. These uncertainties remain the focus of investors, while today's recovery in gold and silver prices has boosted risk appetite.
On the European side, the European Central Bank's (ECB) Bank Lending Survey (BLS) report, a critical indicator for monetary policy involving 153 financial institutions, highlighted a slight increase in corporate loan demand in the fourth quarter of 2025. Financial institutions also forecast continued growth in corporate loan demand in the first quarter of 2026. In the region, the policy interest rate decisions of the ECB and the Bank of England this week are the focus of investors.
