ISTANBUL: European stock exchanges closed Wednesday higher, except in the UK. The STOXX Europe 600, which includes around 90% of the market capitalization of the European market in 17 countries, was up 1.72 points, or 0.33%, to finish at 520.60. France's CAC 40 rose 11 points, or 0.16%, to 7,577. Italy's FTSE MIB added 101 points, or 0.3%, to finish at 33,880. Germany's DAX was the best performer of the day, soaring 100 points, or 0.54%, to close the mid-week at 18,782. Spain's IBEX 35 increased five points, or 0.05%, to end the session at 11,332.
