ISTANBUL: European stock exchanges closed lower on Monday, except in the UK. The STOXX Europe 600, which includes around 90% of the market capitalization of the European market in 17 countries, was down 1.04 points, or 0.2%, to finish at 511.79. Germany's DAX lost almost 97 points, or 0.53%, to close at 18,320 and Italy's FTSE MIB fell 171 points, or 0.51%, to close at 33,640. France's CAC 40 was the worst performer of the day, diving 73 points, or 0.98%, to end the session at 7,443. Spain's IBEX 35 decreased 48 points, or 0.43%, to end the day at 11,117.
