Global markets are currently facing a mixed trend, with concerns surrounding the independence of the US Federal Reserve contributing to the uncertainty. Additionally, market participants are keenly awaiting the financial results from US chipmaker Nvidia, which are expected later on Wednesday.
In Europe, political uncertainty is playing a significant role in the mixed market performance. French Prime Minister Francois Bayrou announced a vote of confidence in the National Assembly ahead of the government's budget discussions, which are aimed at reducing public debt but have stirred debate within the opposition. Jean-Luc Melenchon, leader of the far-left Unyielding France (LFI) party, stated that his party would initiate impeachment proceedings against President Emmanuel Macron if Bayrou's government fails the confidence vote.
On the economic data front, Germany's GFK consumer confidence index for September fell short of expectations, registering at 23.6, adding to the region's economic concerns.
