Nicosia: The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus emphasized the crucial role of the Turkish army's presence on the island, highlighting its significant impact on regional stability. "The existence of Turkish army in Cyprus has a critical importance," stated Foreign Minister Tahsin Ertugruloglu during a meeting with Turkish Land Forces Commander General Metin Tokel, who was visiting the island to inspect the Turkish Cypriot Peacekeeping Forces Command.

According to Anadolu Agency, Ertugruloglu asserted that the Turkish Armed Forces serve as a vital guarantor of security and peace on the island. He emphasized that the continued presence of the Turkish army is the strongest assurance of peace, existence, security, and future for the Turkish Cypriots. The visit of General Tokel underscores the ongoing military collaboration and strategic partnership between Turkey and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.
