Tehran: An explosion caused by war remnants in Syria's Idlib province injured three civilians, including one in critical condition, Syrian state television reported Tuesday. Civil defense teams transported the injured to the National Hospital in Hama for treatment, Al-Ekhbariya reported on US social media company X, citing the Directorate of Emergency and Disaster Management in Idlib.

According to Anadolu Agency, the incident highlights the ongoing dangers posed by unexploded ordnance in regions affected by years of conflict. Despite the official end of the civil war in Syria following the fall of the Assad regime on December 8, 2024, such remnants of war continue to pose significant risks to civilians. Efforts by local authorities and international organizations to clear these dangerous remnants are ongoing, but the process remains challenging and resource-intensive.
