Tehran: Explosions were heard in Iran early Monday as tensions continued to escalate amid US-Israeli attacks. Blasts were heard in the capital Tehran and the city of Karaj, Iran's semi-official Mehr News Agency reported on Telegram.

According to Anadolu Agency, hostilities have escalated since Israel and the US launched joint attacks on Iran on Feb. 28, which have resulted in the deaths of approximately 1,300 people, including the then-Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

Iran has retaliated with drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf countries hosting US military assets.
