Cyprus Finance Minister, Makis Keravnos, is departing for Budapest on Thursday to participate in the informal meetings of the Eurogroup and Ecofin on September 13 and 14. The Finance Ministry said in press release that during the works of the Eurogroup on Friday, the Eurozone Finance Ministers will exchange views on fiscal policies and macroeconomic developments in the Eurozone. They will also be briefed by the Finance Minister of Italy (as G7 Presidency) on the latest G7 Finance Ministers discussions. The informal Ecofin Council will begin with a working lunch during which Ministers will exchange views with the Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund, Kristalina Georgieva, regarding new financing opportunities to support low-income countries to respond to global challenges, such as dealing with the effects of climate change. The Ministers will then participate in a joint meeting with the Governors of the Central Banks of the EU member states, during which they will exchange views regarding t he sustainable financing of the Green transition, following a presentation by the Director General of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development Mathias Cormann. Finance Ministers will exchange views on Saturday on the effects of demographic change on the sustainability of EU member states' public debt, based on a working document prepared by the Bruegel Institute.
