Svobodny: At least one person was killed and more than 120 people were injured Tuesday when a fire broke out at the Amur Gas Chemical Complex in Russia's Far East, the company said. The person who died was identified as a contractor employee and a Chinese citizen, the company noted on Telegram.

According to Anadolu Agency, at least 19 people were hospitalized in the city of Svobodny with moderate to severe injuries. An additional 104 people suffered minor injuries, including cuts and bruises, and received medical treatment.

The fire originated in an auxiliary processing area of the pyrolysis unit but did not damage the main equipment, the company stated. The cause of the fire is under investigation. The company confirmed that the blaze has been contained.
