San bernardino county: Firefighters in San Bernardino County responded to a report of an F-16 fighter aircraft crash in China Lake, California. The incident saw emergency resources being deployed to manage the aftermath of the crash on Wednesday.

According to Anadolu Agency, the San Bernardino County Fire Department is working alongside China Lake emergency resources to suppress the fire from the downed aircraft, which landed in a dry lake bed near Trona. The pilot, who was the sole occupant of the aircraft, was treated at the scene for non-life-threatening injuries before being transported to a nearby hospital.

The fire department assured the public via X, a US social media platform, that there is no threat to the surrounding vegetation or community from the fire, urging people to avoid the area. The US Air Force's air demonstration squadron, the Thunderbirds, confirmed that a pilot safely ejected from an F-16C during a training mission at approximately 10:45 a.m. (1845GMT) in controlled airspace.

The pilot is reported to be in stable condition and is currently receiving further medical care. Command of the scene has been taken over by the Naval Air Weapons Station China Lake and China Lake Emergency Management.
