Ankara: Trkiye announced that the first flight crew assigned to the T-625 GOKBEY, a domestically developed general-purpose helicopter, has completed its training and is set to join the Turkish Air Force inventory.
According to Anadolu Agency, the National Defense Ministry shared on Turkish social media platform NSosyal that the crew successfully completed its initial flight training at the facilities of Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI), which developed the helicopter. This marks a significant step forward in national aviation as the T-625 GOKBEY is poised to enter service in October.
The ministry emphasized the achievement, stating, "Another historic step for our national aviation. The first flight crew for our domestically developed and nationally produced general-purpose helicopter, the T-625 GOKBEY, which is preparing to join the Air Force inventory in October, has successfully completed its training at TAI facilities." The statement highlighted the dedication of the personnel, who have undergone a challenging familiarization process to master this advanced platform of Turkish engineering.
In addition to the announcement, the ministry released a photo of the newly trained crew, showcasing the individuals who will operate the GOKBEY helicopter with expertise and precision.
