Burgenstock: The first round of four-party talks involving Iran and the US, mediated by Qatar and Pakistan, has concluded in Switzerland. The Iranian negotiating team, as reported by Iran's semi-official Fars news agency, participated in the discussions which ended after 80 minutes to allow delegations time for internal consultations.

According to Anadolu Agency, the initial session did not tackle the nuclear file but focused on implementing Clause 13 of the memorandum of understanding, with the Lebanon file receiving priority. The provisions of the deal include ending the conflict in Lebanon, reopening the Strait of Hormuz, and lifting the US naval blockade on Iran.

Iran's state broadcaster IRIB disclosed that bilateral discussions between the Iranian and Qatari delegations commenced following the four-party meeting. The next session's schedule remains undisclosed.

Earlier, Qatar announced the commencement of US-Iran negotiations in Switzerland, with Qatari and Pakistani mediation, to discuss the implementation of an interim agreement's terms. The talks aim to end the prolonged Middle East conflict and facilitate the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz. The negotiations in Burgenstock are led by US Vice President JD Vance and Iran's Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf and Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, with the assistance of Pakistani mediators.
