France and China Call for Favorable Conditions for Two-State Solution Implementation in Gaza

Paris: France and China called for the creation of "favorable conditions" for the "effective implementation" of the two-state solution in Gaza, according to an official statement issued by Paris after French President Emmanuel Macron wrapped up his three-day state visit to China.

According to Anadolu Agency, the statement issued by the French Presidency emphasized that the two-state solution is the only credible way to meet the aspirations of the Israeli and Palestinian peoples for a just and lasting peace and security. It urged all parties to "immediately honor their commitments" under the Oct. 10 ceasefire and condemned all violations of international humanitarian law.

The statement also highlighted the necessity for large-scale humanitarian assistance under the United Nations' supervision, ensuring rapid, safe, and unimpeded delivery throughout the Gaza Strip. Additionally, it reaffirmed France and China's support for efforts to reach a ceasefire in Ukraine.

In a separate statement, France and China announced an agreement on further cooperation for the development of the "peaceful uses" of nuclear energy. The statement indicated plans to strengthen the exchange of experience and technical cooperation in nuclear safety and security. Both countries committed to the safe management and storage of spent fuel and radioactive waste, emphasizing their shared commitment to fostering the safe development of nuclear energy.

The statement further highlighted the importance of cooperation in nuclear fuel supply, nuclear equipment manufacturing, and uranium resource security. It reaffirmed their commitment to the international nuclear non-proliferation architecture and underscored the International Atomic Energy Agency's (IAEA) central role in ensuring nuclear safety and security while upholding non-proliferation obligations.

The two countries agreed to continue collaborating on nuclear energy initiatives, including sharing expertise on third-generation pressurized water reactors, extending plant lifespans, managing radioactive waste, and advancing technological innovation through existing collaborative projects.
