Paris: The French president announced Wednesday an additional 2 billion euros ($2 billion) in military aid for Ukraine. "I can announce today an additional 2 billion euros of military support from France to Ukraine," Emmanuel Macron announced at a news conference with his Ukrainian counterpart ahead of Thursday's "coalition of the willing" summit in Paris. Macron urged a stop to Russian strikes against Ukraine, reiterating the need for a lasting peace.

According to Anadolu Agency, Macron highlighted Ukraine's willingness for peace, referencing a previous commitment made in Jeddah on March 11, where Ukraine expressed its agreement to a complete and unconditional ceasefire for 30 days with the United States. Macron emphasized that similar commitment is expected from Russia.

Macron also pointed out the strategic implications of the ongoing conflict. He accused Russia of turning the Black Sea into a 'battleground' which has disrupted international trade routes. He acknowledged efforts to promote peace and praised Trkiye's role in the Black Sea region, citing its importance due to international treaties.
