Paris: France has expressed approval of the United States' recent announcement regarding the transition to phase two of the Gaza plan, highlighting its potential to shift from a ceasefire to a sustainable peace.

According to Anadolu Agency, the French Foreign Ministry released a statement underscoring that this development aligns with UN Security Council Resolution 2803 and marks a significant milestone, occurring one hundred days following the ceasefire announcement. During this period, pressing humanitarian needs have not been adequately addressed.

France extended its appreciation to the United States, Egypt, Qatar, and Trkiye for their pivotal roles in facilitating this crucial progression. It urged all involved parties to honor their commitments and avoid actions that might undermine the plan's execution.

In addition to commending the transition, Paris applauded the establishment of the National Committee for the Administration of Gaza (NCAG), a technocratic Palestinian body. This formation is seen as an initial move towards enacting the peace plan and ensuring Palestinian governance in this subsequent phase.

The French statement emphasized the urgency for the committee to convene promptly, deploy in Gaza, and address the population's immediate needs with support from the Palestinian Authority and the global community. France has pledged its full participation in these efforts.

Furthermore, the statement articulated that forming the committee could facilitate the disarmament of Hamas and the reinstatement of a reformed Palestinian Authority in Gaza, thereby fostering a credible political environment for a Palestinian state to coexist peacefully with Israel.

France reiterated its commitment to the peace plan and its intention to collaborate with partners in implementing subsequent steps.
