France: France will contribute ground force deployments to NATO's Forward Land Forces (FLF) in Finland, said an official statement released by the Finnish presidency on Wednesday amid the alliance summit in Ankara.
According to Anadolu Agency, the joint statement by Finland, Sweden, and France specified that France's contribution will include ground force deployments to rotations of FLF Finland. This will involve a battle unit that will be integrated into the FLF formation and deployed to the Area of Operations.
The statement further detailed that France will offer training for critical enablers alongside the FLF Finland battlegroup on a temporary basis. This initiative is hailed as a demonstration of the joint commitment to bolstering both European and NATO strength.
Established in June 2026, the FLF Finland battlegroup is the ninth multinational unit under NATO's Forward Land Forces, designed to enhance the alliance's deterrence and defense capabilities in the High North.
