Tokyo: French President Emmanuel Macron on Tuesday began a three-day visit to Japan, a trip anticipated to focus largely on the economic implications of the ongoing Middle East conflict. Macron's arrival in Japan was marked by inclement weather, as his plane touched down at Tokyo's Haneda Airport amidst rain and strong winds, as reported by state broadcaster NHK.

According to Anadolu Agency, this marks Macron's fourth visit to Japan during his presidency. Upon arrival, he engaged with a number of cultural figures, writers, and editors. Macron is scheduled to meet with Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi on Wednesday, with discussions expected to address key issues, including those concerning Iran. He will also have an audience with Emperor Naruhito.

The French presidential office has emphasized that the discussions with Prime Minister Takaichi will center around Iran-related issues. Both France and Japan have expressed their readiness to implement "all necessary measures" to maintain stability in global energy markets. Additionally, France aims to further its cooperation with Japan on economic security and various other sectors.

Macron's visit to Japan is scheduled to conclude on April 2, after which he will continue his tour in South Korea.
