Paris: French President Emmanuel Macron spoke over the phone with his Egyptian counterpart Abdul Fattah el-Sisi to discuss the two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

According to Anadolu Agency, the two leaders condemned the forced displacement of Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank, describing it as "unacceptable" and a "serious violation of international law," as stated by the Elysee Palace. The conversation took place amid widespread condemnation from the Arab world and beyond regarding US President Donald Trump's plan to relocate Gazans to Egypt and Jordan and "take over" the Gaza Strip.

Macron and Sisi warned that such actions could undermine the two-state solution and pose a significant destabilizing factor for both Egypt and Jordan. They emphasized their commitment to achieving a lasting ceasefire and a credible resolution for Gaza, insisting that a political solution based on the two-state model is essential to fulfilling the "legitimate aspirations" of both Israelis and Palestinians.

The discussion also touched on bilateral cooperation, with Macron reaffirming France's full support for Egypt's stability. Both leaders agreed to maintain close communication on these critical issues.
