French President Engages in Morning Run in Ankara Before NATO Summit Session

Ankara: French President Emmanuel Macron went for a morning run in the Turkish capital Ankara before attending the NATO summit session.

According to Anadolu Agency, Macron jogged in Segmenler Park, located in the city's Cankaya district, which is known for housing government buildings and nearly all foreign embassies. During his run, he was accompanied by his security detail and took the opportunity to greet passersby.

Macron is scheduled to participate in the meeting of the North Atlantic Council at the level of heads of state and government. Following the session, he is expected to hold bilateral meetings before concluding the day with a press engagement.

The NATO summit, held in Ankara on July 7-8, focuses on implementing defense spending commitments agreed upon in the 2025 summit, sustaining military support for Ukraine, and expanding defense industrial production. This two-day meeting occurs amidst ongoing debates over transatlantic burden-sharing and continued uncertainty surrounding the Russia-Ukraine war.
