G20 Leaders Commit to Peace Efforts in Sudan, DR Congo, Palestine, and Ukraine

Johannesburg: G20 leaders on Saturday pledged in their summit declaration to work for a 'just, comprehensive and lasting' peace in Sudan, the Democratic Republic of Congo, the Palestinian territories, and Ukraine.

According to Anadolu Agency, the leaders' final declaration emphasized their commitment to the Purposes and Principles of the UN Charter. They expressed their determination to achieve peace in these regions, highlighting that peace is essential for sustainability and prosperity. The declaration also condemned terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.

The summit declaration, adopted in Johannesburg, South Africa, included a promise to address other conflicts and wars globally. South African President Cyril Ramaphosa's spokesperson, Vincent Magwenya, confirmed the adoption of the declaration, as reported by the public broadcaster SABC.

The G20, established in 1999, comprises 19 countries and two regional bodies, the European Union and the African Union.
