Gas Pipeline Fire Halts Energy Supplies in Eastern Syria

Deir ez-Zor:Eastern Syria A fire attributed to sabotage has disrupted a gas pipeline in eastern Syria, impacting the supply of gas from the Jbessa plant to power stations.

According to Anadolu Agency, the fire erupted on a pipeline located between Al-Shoula and Deir ez-Zor, as reported by the official SANA news agency.

Hisham al-Saleh, an official from the Syrian Petroleum Company, stated that the fire has halted the flow of gas from the Jbessa plant to electricity generation stations. Efforts are ongoing to extinguish the blaze, with firefighting teams isolating the affected pipeline section amidst declining gas pressure in the region.

Earlier on Monday, local sources informed Anadolu that Syrian civil defense teams were deployed to the site near Al-Shoula to manage and control the fire.
