Gaza City: At least 62 more Palestinians were killed in Israeli airstrikes in the Gaza Strip, pushing up the death toll since October 2023 to 50,144, the Health Ministry said on Tuesday.

According to Anadolu Agency, a ministry statement indicated that 296 more injured individuals were transferred to hospitals, increasing the total number of injuries to 113,704 amid the ongoing Israeli onslaught. The statement further highlighted the difficulty rescuers face, noting that many victims remain trapped under rubble and on the roads, inaccessible to rescue teams.

The conflict escalated when the Israeli army launched a surprise aerial campaign on the Gaza Strip on March 18. This offensive resulted in nearly 800 deaths and over 1,600 injuries, despite a ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement that had been in place since January.

Last November, the International Criminal Court took significant action by issuing arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, citing war crimes and crimes against humanity allegedly committed in Gaza. Furthermore, Israel is facing a genocide case at the International Court of Justice regarding its military actions in the enclave.
