Gaza: At least 61,158 Palestinians have been killed in Israel's ongoing conflict with the Gaza Strip since October 2023, including 193 deaths attributed to hunger, as reported by the Health Ministry on Wednesday. A ministry statement detailed that 138 bodies were brought to hospitals within the last 24 hours, with 771 individuals injured, increasing the total number of injuries to 151,442 during the Israeli operations.

According to Anadolu Agency, the Health Ministry indicated that an additional five people succumbed to starvation and malnutrition in the past day, bringing the total death toll from such causes since October 2023 to 193, of which 96 were children. The report also noted that 87 Palestinians were killed and 570 injured while attempting to access humanitarian aid in the last 24 hours, raising the death toll for those killed while seeking aid to 1,655, with over 11,800 others wounded since May 27.

Israel has maintained a blockade on Gaza for 18 years, and since March 2, has closed all crossings, blocking humanitarian aid and exacerbating conditions for the 2.4 million residents of the territory. Gaza's Government Media Office reported that only 843 aid trucks have been allowed entry since July 27, falling significantly short of the 6,000 trucks needed to meet the daily requirements of the population over a 10-day period.

The Israeli military resumed its assaults on the Gaza Strip on March 18, resulting in 9,754 fatalities and 39,401 injuries, effectively nullifying a ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement established in January. Last November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant on charges of war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza. Additionally, Israel is facing a genocide case at the International Court of Justice regarding its actions in the enclave.
