Gaza Death Toll Nears 52,900 as Israeli Attacks Continue

Gaza: At least 52,862 Palestinians have been killed in Israel's war since October 2023, the Health Ministry said on Monday. A ministry statement reported that 33 people were killed in Israeli attacks in the enclave in the last 24 hours, while 94 others were injured, raising the total number of injuries to 119,648.

According to Anadolu Agency, many victims are still trapped under the rubble and on the roads as rescuers are unable to reach them. The Israeli army resumed its assaults on the Gaza Strip on March 18 and has since killed 2,749 people and injured over 7,600 others, disrupting a ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement that was established in January.

In a development last November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza. Additionally, Israel is facing a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its actions in the enclave.
