Gaza City: Palestinian medics and rescue teams have recovered 25 more bodies from the rubble in the Gaza Strip over the past 24 hours, increasing the death toll from Israel's war since October 2023 to 48,264, as reported by the Health Ministry on Saturday.
According to Anadolu Agency, the ministry also confirmed that 12 injured individuals were admitted to hospitals in the past 48 hours, raising the total number of injured people in the Israeli offensive to 111,688. The Health Ministry noted the challenge of accessing victims still trapped under the rubble and along the roads.
A ceasefire agreement has been effective in Gaza since January 19, halting the Israeli military actions that have resulted in extensive destruction and devastation in the Palestinian territory.
In a related development, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants last November for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, accusing them of war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza. Additionally, Israel is facing a genocide case at the International Court of Justice concerning its actions in the enclave.
