Gaza Death Toll Rises as Israel Kills 79 More Palestinians

Gaza: At least 53,901 Palestinians have been killed in Israel's war since October 2023, the Health Ministry reported on Saturday. A ministry statement noted that 79 bodies were brought to hospitals in the last 24 hours, while 211 individuals sustained injuries, increasing the total number of injuries to 122,593 amid the ongoing Israeli onslaught.

According to Anadolu Agency, victims remain trapped under rubble and on the roads due to rescuers being unable to reach them. The Israeli army resumed its assaults on the Gaza Strip on March 18, resulting in the deaths of 3,747 people and injuries to nearly 10,600 others. This resurgence of violence shattered a ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement established in January.

In November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza. Additionally, Israel faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice concerning its actions in the enclave.
