Gaza city: At least 61,599 Palestinians have been killed in Israel's genocidal war on the Gaza Strip since October 2023, the Health Ministry reported on Tuesday.

According to Anadolu Agency, a ministry statement revealed that 100 bodies, including 11 recovered from under rubble, were brought to hospitals in the last 24 hours, while 513 people were injured. This takes the total number of injuries to 154,088 since the war began.

The statement highlighted that many victims remain trapped under rubble and on roads, as ambulance and civil defense teams struggle to reach them. The ministry further detailed that 31 Palestinians were killed and 388 injured by Israeli strikes while attempting to access humanitarian aid in the last 24 hours. This brings the total number of Palestinians killed while seeking aid to 1,838, with more than 13,409 others wounded since May 27.

Additionally, the ministry reported that five people, including two children, died in the past 24 hours due to famine and malnutrition, increasing the total death toll from starvation to 227, including 103 children, amid a worsening humanitarian crisis in the enclave.

The Israeli army resumed attacks on the Gaza Strip on March 18, killing 10,078 people and injuring 42,047, thereby breaking a ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement that had taken effect in January.

Last November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza. Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its actions in the enclave.
