Gaza: Palestinian medics and rescue teams recovered 22 more bodies from the rubble in the Gaza Strip, bringing the overall death toll from Israel's war since October 2023 to 48,319, the Health Ministry said on Thursday.
According to Anadolu Agency, a ministry statement indicated that 16 injured individuals were admitted to hospitals within the last 24 hours, increasing the total number of injured to 111,749 due to the Israeli onslaught. The ministry highlighted that many victims remain trapped under rubble and on roads, as rescuers struggle to reach them.
A ceasefire agreement has been in effect in Gaza since January 19, halting the Israeli military actions that have resulted in significant destruction and left the Palestinian enclave devastated. However, Gaza local authorities have reported almost daily violations of the ceasefire by the Israeli army.
The International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants in November last year for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, citing war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza. Additionally, Israel is facing a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its actions in the enclave.
