Gaza: At least 36 more Palestinians were killed in Israeli airstrikes in the Gaza Strip in the last 24 hours, bringing the overall death toll from Israel's war since October 2023 to 50,846, the Health Ministry said on Wednesday.

According to Anadolu Agency, a ministry statement reported that 41 more injured people were also transferred to hospitals, taking the number of injuries to 115,729 in the Israeli onslaught. The statement highlighted the difficulty faced by rescuers, noting that many victims are still trapped under rubble and on the roads, making it challenging for rescue teams to reach them.

The Israeli army initiated a surprise aerial campaign on the Gaza Strip on March 18, resulting in the deaths of 1,482 people and nearly 3,700 injuries, despite a ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement that took effect in January. The ongoing conflict has drawn international attention and condemnation.

In a related development last November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant. They are charged with war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza. Additionally, Israel is facing a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its actions in the enclave.
