Gaza: At least 65,141 Palestinians have been killed in the ongoing conflict in the Gaza Strip since October 2023, as four more individuals, including a child, succumbed to starvation, reported the Health Ministry on Thursday.

According to Anadolu Agency, a ministry statement revealed that 79 bodies were brought to hospitals in the past 24 hours, while 228 people were injured, raising the total number of injuries to 165,925 in the continuing Israeli assault. The statement highlighted that many victims remain trapped under debris and on roads, inaccessible to rescuers.

The ministry further reported that nine Palestinians lost their lives and over 33 others sustained injuries from Israeli army fire while attempting to obtain humanitarian aid over the last 24 hours. This incident increased the total number of Palestinians killed while seeking aid to 2,513, with more than 18,414 others wounded since May 27.

In addition, the ministry announced that four more Palestinians, including a child, died from malnutrition and starvation in the past 24 hours. This development raised the famine-related death toll since October 2023 to 435 people, including 147 children. Since March 2, Israeli authorities have completely closed all Gaza border crossings, leading to famine conditions for the territory's 2.4 million residents.

Famine has been confirmed in northern Gaza and is anticipated to spread to Deir al-Balah and Khan Younis in central and southern Gaza by the end of September, stated the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC). Following the IPC's declaration of famine in Gaza, 157 people have died from starvation, including 32 children, the ministry confirmed.

The Israeli military resumed its offensive on the Gaza Strip on March 18, resulting in 12,590 fatalities and 53,884 injuries, thereby disrupting a ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement established in January.

In November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for alleged war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza. On Tuesday, the UN Independent International Commission of Inquiry on the Occupied Palestinian Territory corroborated that Israel had committed genocide in Gaza.
