Gaza:Hardline rhetoric against Palestinians is becoming a focal point in Israel's election campaigns as humanitarian conditions in the Gaza Strip continue to deteriorate. This situation arises amid ongoing restrictions and violations by Israeli forces, intensifying the challenges faced by the Palestinian population.
According to Anadolu Agency – English, extremist Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir recently released an AI-generated campaign video depicting the Gaza Strip as completely destroyed by 2030. This video is part of his far-right Jewish Power party's election campaign.
Among the pressing issues in Gaza are the loss of food assistance for half a million Palestinians, the threat of hospital service shutdowns due to depleted generator fuel, the expansion of Israeli-controlled areas, and an increase in Palestinian casualties caused by Israeli forces. These developments come as Israeli bombardments and restrictions on supply entries persist, despite a ceasefire agreement effective since October 2025.
The World Food Program (WFP) announced a reduction in food assistance on October 19, impacting around 500,000 Palestinians. The aid cuts result from a funding shortage that has left the agency with less than half the necessary financing for operations in 2026. Consequently, food rations and hot meal distributions have been significantly reduced, exacerbating food insecurity for about 1.4 million people in Gaza.
The Gaza Health Ministry warned on October 21 that hospitals might be forced to cease operations as fuel for electricity generators runs out. This shortage threatens essential medical services as hospitals rely on these generators after Israel cut electricity supplies in October 2023.
Additionally, the Israeli army has advanced 'Yellow Line' markers, expanding territories under its control, contrary to the ceasefire agreement. This expansion has led to further displacement of Palestinians and restricted access to homes and agricultural lands.
The number of Palestinian deaths has also increased dramatically, with 95 killed in October compared to 68 in the same period in September, totaling 1,534 deaths since the ceasefire agreement took effect. Since October 2023, Israeli actions have resulted in the deaths of 74,494 Palestinians and injuries to 175,604 others, while severely damaging civilian infrastructure in Gaza.
