Gaza: The Gaza Health Ministry announced it had received the remains of 15 more Palestinian prisoners from Israel through Red Cross teams under a ceasefire agreement. The ministry confirmed that its medical teams are processing the remains following approved forensic and medical protocols, which include examination, documentation, and identification procedures, before they are returned to families.

According to Anadolu Agency, some of the bodies exhibited signs of abuse, with indications of beatings, bound hands, and blindfolded eyes. This recent transfer brings the total number of returned bodies from Israel to 150 since the ceasefire was implemented on October 10. The ministry further reported that families have successfully identified 25 victims using an online reference system designed to match remains with missing persons.

The ceasefire and hostage swap agreement, concluded between Israel and Hamas last week, was based on a phased plan proposed by US President Donald Trump. The initial phase involved the release of Israeli hostages in exchange for Palestinian prisoners. Future phases of the plan include the reconstruction of Gaza and the establishment of a new governing mechanism without Hamas. Since October 2023, the conflict has resulted in the deaths of nearly 68,200 individuals and injuries to more than 170,200, as reported by the Gaza Health Ministry.
