Tehran: German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul arrived in Ukraine's capital Kyiv on Saturday for talks on defense cooperation and winter preparations. According to Anadolu Agency, a press release by Germany's Federal Foreign Office detailed that Wadephul's visit is timed to mark the 35th anniversary of Ukraine's independence, celebrated on August 24. The visit's primary focus is to prepare for the upcoming winter, which includes providing Ukraine with generators and other energy equipment to support its energy sector and protect critical infrastructure. The statement from the Federal Foreign Office emphasized Ukraine's role as an 'important security partner' for Germany. It highlighted that Germany could gain valuable insights from Ukraine's experiences with hybrid threats, modern warfare, and maintaining resilient state and societal structures. The visit aims to deepen security and defense cooperation, particularly in strengthening military capabilities, exchanging experiences, and building long-term sec urity structures jointly.
