Ankara:Germany has declared its support for NATO allies Bulgaria and Romania following recent drone attacks on commercial ships in the Black Sea.

According to Anadolu Agency, the German Foreign Ministry expressed deep concern over the attacks, emphasizing their broader implications for regional security and stability. The ministry conveyed solidarity with Romania, Bulgaria, and other regional partners, while also expressing sympathies for the missing individuals and their families.

The attacks occurred on Tuesday when drones targeted two vessels near Bulgaria. One vessel sank, resulting in missing crew members, while the other caught fire, with its sailors subsequently rescued. The day before, a commercial ship outside Romania's territorial waters caught fire and sank, leading to the death of two crew members, though 11 others were rescued.
