Germany: Europeans must be at Ukraine-Russia negotiating table
Germany's foreign minister emphasized the necessity for European participation in the Ukraine-Russia negotiations, highlighting the importance of European interests in the outcome of these discussions.
According to Anadolu Agency, Johann Wadephul, speaking at the GLOBSEC forum in Prague, expressed concerns over the current US-led talks. He mentioned that the negotiations, mediated by US envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, have been struggling to gain momentum. Wadephul pointed out that the same individuals are also negotiating other complex international issues, such as the Iranian and Gaza files, which have yet to see successful resolutions.
Wadephul argued that including European representatives in the negotiation process could provide a fresh impetus. "Europeans have to have a place on the table. It's about us. It's about our future," he stated. He reiterated Europe's support for Ukraine and stressed the importance of European involvement in shaping the future developments of the negotiations.
