Dubai: The GITEX Global, a premier event dedicated to technology, artificial intelligence, and startups, has commenced at the Dubai World Trade Center. The event, which started on Monday, is highlighting advancements in biotechnology, data centers, and quantum computing, among other cutting-edge fields.
According to Anadolu Agency, this 45th edition of GITEX Global has attracted participation from over 6,800 companies representing 180 countries. Tech industry leaders, including Google, Huawei, IBM, and Microsoft, are taking part in the event. Additionally, more than 40 unicorns, defined as startups with valuations exceeding $1 billion, are set to be featured prominently.
The event will see attendance by approximately 2,000 startups, with notable figures such as OpenAI CEO Sam Altman delivering speeches. A significant portion of the participants, about 80%, are from outside the United Arab Emirates, emphasizing the event's international scope. Various countries, including Trkiye, are showcasing their innovations through dedicated pavilions.
For the first time, the Turkish Industry and Technology Ministry, along with the Investment Office, is participating with a joint pavilion titled 'Turcorn-Invest in Trkiye.' This initiative aims to bolster Trkiye's image as an innovation and tech hub while creating opportunities for domestic startups and fostering partnerships.
The event will feature over 50 Turkish companies involved in sectors ranging from cybersecurity and fintech to artificial intelligence and robotics, demonstrating the diverse technological advancements and expertise present at GITEX Global 2023.
