Istanbul: Google Trkiye announced Monday that Gemini has become an official sponsor of the Trkiye National Football Team ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The announcement was made on the US social media company X, where Google Trkiye referred to the national team by its popular nickname, ‘Our Boys.’

According to Anadolu Agency, Google Trkiye expressed pleasure in announcing the sponsorship, highlighting that ‘football excitement will double with Gemini this year.’ Gemini, an artificial intelligence platform developed by Google, is integrated into a variety of the company’s products and services. The 2026 FIFA World Cup, set to be hosted by the US, Canada, and Mexico, will see Trkiye compete against Australia on June 13, Paraguay on June 20, and the US on June 26 in Group D.

The Turkish Football Federation also revealed that the partnership with Google will enhance the digital experience for football fans. It stated that Google’s AI assistant, Gemini, will launch a series of fan-focused digital initiatives over the course of a year. The federation emphasized that fans will have the opportunity to experience Google’s innovative AI solutions on digital platforms.

The press release further detailed that with its multimodal structure, Google Gemini will establish a strong connection between the National Teams and global fan communities. An innovative network will be created where football fans can engage with the players and teams they support. Fans will receive real-time support from Gemini regarding team performance and match statistics. Additionally, they will become part of an interactive experience featuring exclusive content, visuals, original chants, and slogans.
