Gulf Cooperation Council Renews Jasem Albudaiwi’s Term as Secretary-General.

Kuwait City: The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) decided to renew the term of Secretary-General Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi for an additional three years at a summit in Kuwait on Sunday. According to Anadolu Agency, in a final statement issued by the Supreme Council in its 45th Session, it decided to "renew the appointment of His Excellency Mr. Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi as Secretary-General of the GCC for another three years, starting February 1, 2026." The decision was made in recognition of Albudaiwi's efforts and contributions to advancing the Council's progress, with wishes for his continued success in fulfilling his duties in the coming period. The statement also highlighted the Supreme Council's welcome for the United Arab Emirates to preside over its forty-sixth session, with anticipation for the upcoming summit to be held in Abu Dhabi. The summit in Kuwait was chaired by Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and attended by notable leaders, including Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al T hani, UAE Vice President Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Bahraini Crown Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, and Omani Deputy Prime Minister Fahd bin Mahmoud Al Said.
