Gaza city: Hamas accused Israel on Monday of killing 271 Palestinians since the Gaza ceasefire deal came into force last month. In a statement, the Palestinian group said it has 'fully and faithfully' abided by the ceasefire deal despite repeated Israeli violations.

According to Anadolu Agency, Hamas reported that it had handed over 20 Israeli captives alive and the remains of 24 others out of 28 as part of the deal, 'despite widespread destruction, lack of equipment, and the martyrdom of several resistance fighters.' Hamas detailed that among the 271 Palestinians killed by Israel since the ceasefire took effect on October 10, there were 39 women, 107 children, and 9 elderly people. Additionally, 622 other people were injured by Israeli fire, including 137 women and 221 children.

The group emphasized that these actions confirm what it describes as the retaliatory and systematic nature of the Israeli occupation's attacks. Hamas claims that the Israeli army has detained 35 Palestinians, including fishermen and civilians, with 29 still remaining in detention.

Hamas further accused Israel of continuing to demolish homes daily within Israeli-controlled areas in Gaza. It highlighted that Israel has kept the Zikim crossing closed, restricting the entry of essential goods and heavy machinery needed for rubble removal. The group also mentioned that the Rafah crossing with Egypt remains shut in both directions, contrary to pledges made under the ceasefire deal, which has exacerbated humanitarian conditions for Gaza's population.

Hamas urged mediators and guarantors of the ceasefire deal to compel Israel to fully implement the agreement, halt the killings immediately, and withdraw troops along the agreed temporary line. Phase one of the deal included the release of Israeli hostages in exchange for Palestinian prisoners and plans for the rebuilding of Gaza and the establishment of a new governing mechanism without Hamas.

Since October 2023, Israel's actions have resulted in more than 69,000 deaths and over 170,600 injuries, as reported by the Gaza Health Ministry.
