Gaza: Palestinian group Hamas announced on Monday that it is waiting for 'a clear and official response' from the Board of Peace's envoy Nickolay Mladenov and mediators about the understandings reached on implementing the second phase of the Gaza ceasefire agreement.

According to Anadolu Agency, Hamas and Palestinian factions have reiterated their commitment to the agreed terms regarding the implementation of this second phase, which includes obligations for all involved parties. This statement was released by a senior Hamas source on the group's Telegram channel.

Last Friday, the Board of Peace and US President Donald Trump announced an agreement to initiate the next phase of the Gaza ceasefire. The board stated that Hamas had accepted a detailed roadmap, although Israel has not made any official comments regarding the proposal.

The Israeli daily, Israel Hayom, reported that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu communicated to Mladenov that Israel 'will not withdraw from positions it controls in Gaza and will not cease fire,' citing concerns that Hamas continues to build its military capabilities in the region.

Since October 2023, Israel's actions in Gaza have resulted in the deaths of more than 73,000 people and injuries to over 174,000 others. Despite a ceasefire agreement being in effect since October 10, 2025, Israel has continued its military operations in the enclave, leading to the deaths of 1,250 Palestinians and injuries to 4,110 others, as reported by Gaza's Health Ministry.
