Gaza: Hamas confirmed on Sunday its adherence to the terms of the ceasefire agreement with Israel.

According to Anadolu Agency, the Israeli Army Radio reported that the ceasefire in Gaza, originally scheduled to begin at 8.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT), will not commence until the list of hostages to be released is received.

The Palestinian group Hamas stated that the delay is due to 'technical and logistical reasons.' In a statement, Hamas reiterated its commitment to the terms of the ceasefire agreement, emphasizing that the delay in delivering the names of those to be released in the initial phase is a technical and logistical issue.

The ceasefire between Israel and Hamas is anticipated to take effect after months of conflict that began on October 7, 2023. The ongoing conflict has resulted in the deaths of nearly 47,000 Palestinians, primarily women and children, and injuries to over 110,700 others, as reported by local health authorities.
