Hamas Reports 70 Palestinians Killed Despite Israel’s Claim of Reduced Military Operations

Gaza city: Israeli airstrikes and shelling resulted in the deaths of 70 Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, including women and children, despite Israeli claims of reducing military operations against civilians, according to Hamas. "This ongoing bloody escalation exposes the lies of the claims of the war criminal Netanyahu's government regarding reducing military operations against defenseless civilians," the Palestinian resistance group stated. The group urged the international community and Arab and Islamic countries to take legal and humanitarian responsibilities to protect Palestinians, provide relief, and intensify pressure to end the ongoing conflict in Gaza.

According to Anadolu Agency, Egypt confirmed it will host a new round of indirect negotiations between Israel and Hamas to discuss a prisoner exchange under US President Donald Trump's ceasefire plan. The Egyptian Foreign Ministry stated that these talks are part of ongoing efforts to end the Israeli war in Gaza and will address the field conditions and details of the exchange process for all Israeli captives and Palestinian prisoners. The ministry emphasized that these discussions aim to build on the momentum created by President Trump's plan.

US President Donald Trump announced that a ceasefire will become effective immediately once Hamas confirms. Trump stated that Israel has agreed to an initial withdrawal line in the Gaza Strip, marking a significant step toward a ceasefire and the beginning of a hostage and prisoner exchange with Hamas. He urged Hamas to act swiftly in the release of hostages and in peace negotiations, highlighting the potential end of what he described as a "3,000-year catastrophe."
