Gaza: The Palestinian group Hamas announced its plan to hand over the remains of two additional Israeli hostages on Tuesday evening as part of a Gaza ceasefire agreement.

According to Anadolu Agency, the Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, stated in a brief announcement that the transfer of the remains is scheduled for 9 pm local time (1800GMT). This action is part of an ongoing exchange under the ceasefire agreement, which has already seen the release of 20 living Israeli hostages and the transfer of the remains of 14 other captives. In return, nearly 2,000 Palestinian prisoners have been released.

The ceasefire agreement, initiated on October 10, is based on a phased plan presented by US President Donald Trump and was implemented between Israel and Hamas. The conflict, ongoing since October 2023, has resulted in significant casualties. According to the Gaza Health Ministry, more than 68,200 people have been killed, and over 170,000 have been injured.
