Gaza city: Hamas handed over the remains of an Israeli hostage to the Red Cross on Monday evening under a ceasefire agreement, the army said. A military statement confirmed that the coffin has been transferred to the Red Cross and is on its way to Israeli troops in the Gaza Strip.

According to Anadolu Agency, Hamas had earlier announced its intention to hand over the body of another Israeli captive as part of the ceasefire deal after it was recovered from under the rubble. This development follows the release of 20 living Israeli hostages and the handing over of the remains of 13 additional captives. These actions were part of an agreement that included the exchange for nearly 2,000 Palestinian prisoners, which was facilitated by a phased plan presented by US President Donald Trump.

The ceasefire agreement, which took effect on October 10, marked a significant moment in the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas.
