Gaza city: The Palestinian group Hamas has transferred the remains of three Israeli hostages to the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) as part of a ceasefire agreement, the Israeli army has confirmed.

According to Anadolu Agency, the military stated that the coffins were handed over to the Red Cross and are currently being transported to Israeli troops inside the Gaza Strip. Hamas had earlier announced its intention to hand over the bodies, which it had recovered from under the rubble.

The transfer of remains marks a development in the ongoing ceasefire efforts between the involved parties. The process is being facilitated by the ICRC to ensure the dignified handling and transfer of the remains back to Israel.
