Gaza: The Palestinian Hamas resistance group on Tuesday called for global protests and rallies against the resumption of Israeli genocide in Gaza. The Gaza local authorities earlier said over 322 Palestinians were killed or missing after Israel resumed its deadly attacks on Gaza, breaking the ceasefire agreement that took effect on Jan. 19.

According to Anadolu Agency, senior Hamas official Izzat Al-Rishq issued a statement urging Arab and Islamic nations, as well as freedom-loving people worldwide, to protest against what he termed as the Zionist genocidal war against the people of Gaza. Al-Rishq criticized Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for not only preventing food and medicine from reaching Gaza but also for targeting children in their sleep.

Al-Rishq stated that Netanyahu's decision to resume the war on Gaza equates to sacrificing the occupation's prisoners and acts as a death sentence against them. He called on mediators and world leaders to reveal the truth about Israel's actions and to hold Netanyahu accountable for reigniting the conflict.

The Israeli army announced that it conducted airstrikes in the Gaza Strip, marking the largest offensive since the ceasefire with Hamas took effect on Jan. 19. The army claimed to target Hamas, but images from Gaza depict civilian casualties, including children and women, whose homes were bombed during the night.

Despite the ceasefire, Gaza's local authorities had reported almost daily violations by the Israeli army. Since October 2023, Israeli attacks have resulted in over 48,500 Palestinian deaths, predominantly women and children, and have left Gaza devastated.

The International Criminal Court had issued arrest warrants last November for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.
