GAZA CITY: Heavy rainstorms have compounded the dire situation faced by displaced Palestinian civilians in Gaza, as ongoing military actions by Israel continue to devastate the region. The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) issued a statement highlighting the severe impact of the weather on civilians already enduring a humanitarian crisis. According to Anadolu Agency, UNRWA reported that over 100 tents housing displaced individuals were flooded due to the torrential rains. This has caused significant damage in Khan Younis, a city in the southern part of Gaza. The agency emphasized the urgent need for increased and consistent humanitarian aid to assist those struggling to stay warm and safe amid the harsh winter conditions. An estimated 500 families remain displaced along the Gaza shoreline, facing immense challenges.
