Beirut: Hezbollah announced early Monday that it had launched 24 attacks on Israeli army positions, troops, and military vehicles in southern Lebanon over the previous 24 hours. The group specified that these attacks targeted Israeli troop gatherings, Merkava tanks, D9 bulldozers, military equipment, and newly established command centers across several border areas, including Khiam, Deir Seryan, Tayr Harfa, Bayyada, Rashaf, and Naqoura. The operations reportedly involved explosive drones, rocket barrages, artillery shelling, and guided missiles, with the group claiming "confirmed hits" in several instances.

According to Anadolu Agency, the assaults were purportedly in retaliation to Israeli violations of the ceasefire agreement and attacks on civilians and villages in southern Lebanon. Late Sunday, air raid sirens were triggered in several areas of Israel's Upper Galilee for the second time within hours following reports of drone infiltration from Lebanon. Israel's Yedioth Ahronoth daily reported these developments, while the Israeli army stated that the air force intercepted a "suspicious aerial target" launched from Lebanon, asserting that the incident represented "another violation" of the ceasefire understandings by Hezbollah.

Despite a ceasefire initially agreed upon on April 17 and extended to mid-May, tensions remain high, with the Israeli army continuing daily strikes in Lebanon and engaging in exchanges of fire with Hezbollah. The ongoing conflict has resulted in the deaths of 2,846 people, injuries to 8,693, and the displacement of over 1 million individuals in Lebanon since March 2, following the onset of the Iran war in late February. Additionally, Israel has established a "buffer zone" on Lebanese territory. The United States is scheduled to host peace talks between the two nations on May 14-15 in Washington, DC.
